Be Fine With Your Young People Not Doing Exciting Things

“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Romans 12:18

“…That we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:2

Be content if your young people when they do not do astounding, amazing, earth-shattering, feats of faith for Jesus. Be happy as they get Saturday jobs, go to university, attend after school chess clubs. If they are setting Jesus in their hearts as Lord and living in all godliness and holiness, then they’ll be plenty of opportunities to evangelise, to suffer, and to change the world.
